Foot Care for People
Who Have No Time

The real reason foot care slips isn’t a lack of time. It is the idea that you have to make time for it. The harder you try to carve out a special slot, the less likely it is to last.

The trick is to layer it onto something you already do. Those few minutes in the bath, while the skin softens in warm water, happen to be the ideal moment.

A little gentle callus care there, and it becomes part of the routine without a single minute added.

Moisturizing works the same way. If you already apply cream to your face or body after the bath, simply carry on down to your feet with a few drops of oil. You aren’t adding a new step, just stretching an existing one a little further.

Habit stacking

People who write about habits have a name for this: “habit stacking,” attaching a new habit to one you already do every day. The old habit becomes the reminder, so the new one needs no willpower to start.

For the more involved work, such as nails and thicker callused skin, a monthly visit to a salon is a realistic answer. You don’t have to spend all your own time on self-care. Decide where it gets handed over, and your feet can stay in good shape.

Foot care isn’t about changing your life. It is about letting your feet into the routine you already have. That alone changes how the part nobody sees looks and feels.

Your pace stays the same. Only your feet change.

Keep your pace. Just bring your feet along.

At Colors Hiroo Nail Lounge, foot care is a treatment of its own, never an afterthought. Over the years, we have kept refining how we care for callused skin and heels.

It can be done in the same visit as your gel manicure or pedicure: an unhurried hour in a modern Japanese house, two minutes’ walk from Hiroo Station.

Reservations are made through Hot Pepper Beauty, an external Japanese booking site. English-language plan details are listed further down that page; please scroll down to find them.
