FOOT CARE JOURNAL 20
What Happens to Your Feet
When You Keep It Up
Over the last few pieces, we have followed the Colors PRO Foot Serum from the idea behind it, to the chemistry, to the bathroom at home. To close, the question that matters most: what actually changes when you keep it up?
Even after one treatment, the skin feels softer and holds more moisture. But the real change shows up over time.
Thick, callused skin didn’t appear in a day. It was built little by little, by everyday pressure and friction. Caring for it works the same way, a little at a time.
Keep going, and two things tend to happen. First, the skin thickens less readily. When moisture is maintained, the skin feels the need to defend itself less often.
Second, there is gradually less to file. What felt like a lot of callused skin at first can shrink, visit by visit, to surprisingly little.
About a month, give or take
The outer layer of the skin renews itself roughly once a month in young adults, and more slowly with age. That is why real change in the skin is measured in weeks and months, not days.
That isn’t only true of feet. Fingertips and feet alike, what is cared for over time is kept over time.
Corns, heels, odor, callused skin, and finally this serum: this journal has worked through the small questions at your feet, one at a time, and with this piece the series comes to a close. Come back to any of it whenever a question comes up.
What is cared for over time is kept over time.
See the change for yourself, one visit at a time.
At Colors Hiroo Nail Lounge, foot care is a treatment of its own, never an afterthought. Over the years, we have kept refining how we care for callused skin and heels.
It can be done in the same visit as your gel manicure or pedicure: an unhurried hour in a modern Japanese house, two minutes’ walk from Hiroo Station.
Reservations are made through Hot Pepper Beauty, an external Japanese booking site. English-language plan details are listed further down that page; please scroll down to find them.
